Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, emphasized the need to strengthen relations with Afghanistan, acknowledging the Islamic Emirate as the current ruler.
Mr. Putin highlighted the significance of engaging with the Afghan government and considering the views of stakeholders in Central Asia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed Moscow’s intention to remove the Islamic Emirate from its sanctions list, with the Islamic Emirate welcoming this decision and expressing readiness for positive relations with Russia.
