At a press conference held at the Government Media and Information Center, officials from the Afghanistan Academy of Sciences of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan presented their performance report for the past year.
According to the officials, 37 scientific research projects were successfully completed, with an additional 208 projects currently in progress.
They further highlighted that over the past year, the Academy organized 57 conferences and 6 scientific-research seminars across the country, covering a wide range of academic fields.
In addition, 34 books were published, and 25 books were translated during this period.
Officials reported that significant support was provided to researchers and authors, with the addition of 18,500 new books to the Academy’s library, enhancing its collection.
In the past year, four members of the academic staff completed their master’s and doctoral programs, while 20 others were nominated to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees at both domestic and international universities.
Furthermore, the Academy has finalized its six-year strategic plan, designed to guide its on-going and future activities.
In the realm of Islamic banking, the Academy completed key guiding documents over the past year.
Senior officials from the Academy also embarked on strategic visits to the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, and China. These visits aimed to strengthen scientific and research collaborations and to facilitate the signing of MoUs with key relevant institutions in the named countries.
To further enhance scientific collaboration, the Academy is set to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with seven public and private universities.
Furthermore, legislative documents for the Academy have been developed to improve organizational efficiency and ensure better regulation of daily operations. These documents will soon be submitted to the relevant authorities for review.
