The Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, convened a high-level meeting with the directors of health projects to meticulously evaluate the expenditure of the allocated budget in the realm of development initiatives.

Present at the meeting were key figures, including Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services; Mullah Bakht Rahman Sharafat, Deputy Minister for Finance and Administrative Affairs; Dr. Mohammad Hassan Ghiasy, Deputy Minister for Health Development and Policy; along with several senior officials from the Ministry’s central departments. During the meeting, His Excellency underscored the paramount importance of delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients, positioning it as a fundamental obligation of the Ministry.

He further emphasized that the prudent and strategic utilization of the budget earmarked for the Ministry is critical to achieving this goal.

In pursuit of optimizing the financial resources for development projects, the Minister established a dedicated technical committee, chaired by Mullah Bakht Rahman Sharafat, tasked with not only ensuring the effective deployment of the budget but also expediting project timelines and addressing operational bottlenecks.

This committee, composed of representatives from the Minister’s Office, Human Resources, Planning and Policy, Procurement, and Administrative Departments, as well as health project representatives, is expected to implement corrective measures.

Moreover, the officials overseeing the health projects were mandated to compile and present detailed reports on the expenditure incurred so far, which would be reviewed by the technical committee.

This process will ensure that any remaining budget is utilized in the most impactful and efficient manner, safeguarding the success and sustainability of the projects.
