Noor Ahmed Agha, the General Director of the Central Bank, participated in the 19th meeting of the Accounting and Auditing Organization of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and the Islamic Development Bank, which was held in Bahrain.
Nearly 300 representatives from central banks and Islamic commercial banks of Islamic countries also participated in this meeting.
During the meeting, the head of the central bank stressed the importance of creating institutions for better regulation of matters related to zakat, Waqf, Infaq and charity, and he considered the role of these institutions in reducing poverty and ensuring the equitable distribution of wealth in society.
Noor Ahmad Agha also requested cooperation from AAOIFI, the Islamic Development Bank, and other relevant institutions in Afghanistan in the areas of capacity building, educational programs, better management of zakat and endowments, conversion of traditional banks to Islamic banking, and the creation of a halal, stable, transparent, and strong financial and economic system.
He reiterated his request for cooperation in Afghanistan.
