The Minister of Higher Education meets with the Special Envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan

The Minister of Higher Education, Honorable Sheikh Al-Hadith Mawlavi Nida Mohammad Nadeem, met with the Special Representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, Tariq Ali Bakhit, and his accompanying delegation.

At the outset, Honorable Sheikh Al-Hadith welcomed Mr. Tariq Ali Bakhit and expressed his pleasure over his visit to Afghanistan, noting that Mr. Bakhit is closely observing the situation in the country and presenting its true image to the world.

Referring to the achievements of the country’s higher education system since the victory, he stated that the previous academic curriculum did not fully meet the needs of Afghans.

Therefore, it was revised with consideration for Islamic and national values.

He also highlighted several accomplishments, including infrastructure projects in educational institutions, the establishment of new faculties and departments, the introduction of master’s and PhD programs, the exemption of tuition fees for lecturers pursuing master’s and PhD studies, the provision of accommodation and sustenance for traveling lecturers, and filling gaps in academic human resources.

He further stated that, thanks to Allah, after the arrival of the Islamic Emirate, the gap between religious and modern education has been bridged, and the current system gives special attention to both sectors.

Afterwards, the Special Representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, Honorable Tariq Ali Bakhit, expressed his appreciation for the information and achievements shared by the Minister of Higher Education.

He mentioned that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation operates on behalf of 57 Islamic countries. He pledged the Organization’s commitment to cooperating with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, particularly with the Ministry of Higher Education, in economic, academic, and educational fields.

He also emphasized that nationwide security has been established in Afghanistan, creating a favorable environment for progress in all sectors.
