The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with returning citizens today, April 30, 2025, in Spin Boldak District of Kandahar Province.
The Deputy PM warmly welcomed the returnees and stated that today’s gathering and the act of welcoming them is one of the most joyful and pride-filled moments in life. Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund added that by now, it must be clear to you that under foreign rule, there is no real happiness, sustainable progress, sense of ownership, honor, or pride. The feeling of freedom, rightful ownership, pride, and true happiness exists only in one’s own homeland.
Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund added: “We understand that you were forced—abruptly and against your will—to leave your homes. Your businesses were disrupted, many of your assets and resources were left behind, and your education was left incomplete. It is evident that this has been a difficult situation.
However, on behalf of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, I assure you that we will utilize every available resource to address your challenges. Your children will go to madrasas and schools, your businesses will be rebuilt, and all possible facilities will be provided to you. In this regard, the Islamic Emirate has already facilitated many services for our Afghan brothers in a very short time and will continue to do so.”
The Deputy PM further emphasized,
“You are the children of this sovereign land. No matter what difficulties you face here, no one will expel you. In a free Afghanistan, your pride will remain alive, and you will never feel subjugated. A day was destined to come when you would return to your homeland. That day is today—and it is good that you are back in your villages and with your brothers.”
Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund also stated that the dignity and pride of this country depend on the unity and solidarity of the Afghan people. “Together, we will serve our religion and our land. We will extend our support to the Islamic system and will work to permanently save the beloved children of our homeland from the humiliation, exploitation, and displacement in foreign countries.”
In conclusion, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund called on all international humanitarian organizations to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate and support the returning Afghan citizens.
