At least 153 Palestinians were martyred in the past 24 hours as Israel escalated its airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to a Health Ministry official.
“Relentless Israeli strikes claimed the lives of 153 people across the enclave,” said Munir al-Bursh, Director-General of Gaza’s Health Ministry, in a statement to Anadolu Agency.
He reported that Israeli warplanes intensified their bombardment from early Sunday, targeting various parts of the territory. “The Israeli army is carrying out the most brutal forms of ethnic cleansing and genocide against Palestinian civilians,” al-Bursh added.
A medical source noted that at least 140 people were martyred since early morning, with dozens more injured, including women and children.
Among the latest casualties were eight civilians who lost their lives in Gaza City’s Safatawi neighborhood, where Israeli forces shelled a group of people.
The death toll continued to rise as Israeli drones targeted the Indonesian Hospital in Jabalia, located in northern Gaza.
