The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan met yesterday evening with a group of media activists and cultural figures from various provinces of the country.
At the start of the meeting, Mawlavi Naeem ul-Haq Haqqani, speaking on behalf of the participants, discussed the country’s media and cultural situation and thanked the efforts of the Islamic Emirate’s officials in this field.
He noted that, thanks to the untiring efforts of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, significant progress has been achieved in all sectors, including media and culture. However, he explained that this progress demands a shared responsibility of disseminating accurate information in order to counter negative propaganda by evil-minded persons.
Mawlavi Naeem ul-Haq Haqqani also highlighted the issues of the media and requested the Islamic Emirate officials to take essential measures in this matter.
His Excellency, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, appreciated their efforts and asserted that cultural and media workers are the true defenders of society and have been playing an effective role in elevating public opinion through their writings and intellectual activities.
He assured the media and cultural delegates that, besides the ongoing backing of the Islamic Emirate, their suggestions on cultural and media matters would be duly taken into consideration.
