Ukraine and Syria have officially restored diplomatic relations following a meeting between their leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced after talks with Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Syria’s Foreign Minister, Asaad al-Shaibani, and his accompanying delegation also attended the meeting on Wednesday in New York, according to a brief statement from the Syrian Foreign Ministry.
