Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, met and held talks with his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Mr. Muttaqi described his visit to India as an important and historic development in the relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in areas such as counter-narcotics efforts, regional economic projects, and transport corridors.
Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi also encouraged Indian investors to invest in Afghanistan across sectors including agriculture, health, mining, electricity, transport, and other areas.
In addition to requesting the reopening of the Wagah border and facilitation of visa issuance, Mr. Muttaqi urged the Indian side to address the issues of Afghan prisoners in India.
