On the sidelines of the 30th Turkmenistan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference, Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Baymurad Anamadov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Vice President of Turkmenistan for Energy, Electricity, Industry, and Construction.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the two sides discussed the strategic importance of the TAPI project for regional countries, particularly Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. They described the progress and inauguration of the project’s second phase as a significant step toward industrial growth, enhanced economic cooperation, and increased regional trade.
Both parties emphasized that the full implementation of the TAPI project would not only generate employment and economic opportunities in Afghanistan but also strengthen the country’s role as a key transit route for regional energy supply.
Minister Azizi reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s support for expanding bilateral cooperation and underscored the need to remove existing obstacles and establish the necessary facilities to further develop economic and trade relations between the two countries. He also raised concerns regarding challenges faced by Afghan businessmen in Turkmenistan and called for their resolution.
