Shaikh Abdul Rahman Munir, Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics at the Ministry of Interior Affairs, met with Dmitry Zhirnov, Russia’s Ambassador to Kabul, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the fight against drugs.
Mr. Munir emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation to effectively combat narcotics and called on Russia to work with Afghanistan on preventing drug cultivation and trafficking, providing alternative livelihoods for farmers, and treating drug addicts.
In response, the Russian ambassador praised the achievements of the Counter-Narcotics Directorate and reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to continuing cooperation with Kabul.
