During a regular meeting of the Economic Commission chaired by H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, deputy prime minister for economic affairs, the National Policy Plan for the development of the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors was formally approved.
The comprehensive plan includes initiatives such as the mechanization of agriculture and livestock, the development of agricultural and livestock research and extension systems, management of irrigation networks, support for private investment in irrigation and livestock, and ensuring public access to high-quality agricultural and livestock products.
Under the fisheries component, small, medium, and large-scale fish production and farming farms will be established with private investment across 6,500 hectares nationwide.
The implementation of this plan is expected to generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 300,000 people.
