Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, held a telephone conversation with Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the discussion focused on regional issues, particularly the recent confrontation between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the militia regime of Pakistan.
According to the Ministry, Mr. Muttaqi stated that the recent measures undertaken by the security and defense forces of the Islamic Emirate were carried out to safeguard Afghanistan’s sovereignty, protect its airspace, and preserve its territorial integrity, and that the designated objectives were successfully achieved.
He added that the Islamic Emirate has not, from the outset, supported violence and has consistently preferred resolving issues on the basis of mutual understanding and respect. He noted that this process will yield results only if the opposing side demonstrates genuine and practical will to resolve the matter peacefully.
For his part, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized the fundamental resolution of issues between the two sides and stated that Qatar is continuing its efforts, in coordination with relevant countries, to address the matters at hand.
It is worth noting that during the telephone conversation, both sides underscored the importance of maintaining continued contact and sustained consultations.
