According to a statement by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, a 10-point ceasefire plan has been presented to the US.
The Iranian plan includes the following:
1. A formal US commitment not to invade Iran
2. Iran’s continued control of the Strait of Hormuz
3. Recognition of its right to enrich uranium
4. Complete lifting of US primary sanctions
5. Complete lifting of secondary sanctions
6. Cancellation of all UN Security Council resolutions against Iran
7. Cancellation of all resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors
8. Payment of compensation to Iran
9. Withdrawal of US military forces from the region
10. A ceasefire in all areas, especially a cessation of attacks against the Lebanese Islamic Resistance
According to Iranian media reports, US President Donald Trump has accepted these conditions as the basis for negotiations and has backed down from his threats.
