His Excellency Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, chaired a meeting this morning in the presence of the Minister of Public Health and representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Interior Affairs, Higher Education, and Finance, as well as the General Directorate of Intelligence, with the objective of strengthening coordination among institutions in the health sector for innovation, the provision of improved healthcare services to the people, and the overall enhancement of healthcare services.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding effective solutions for improving the country’s health sector and the quality of healthcare services, as well as the existing challenges and obstacles facing the administration of healthcare affairs.
Furthermore, emphasis was placed on providing the necessary facilities for the treatment of citizens, equipping hospitals with standard medical instruments and equipment, reducing mortality incidents in governmental and private hospitals, strengthening child healthcare services, paying attention to disease prevention, reinforcing health centers in remote provinces and districts, establishing coordination for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in governmental hospitals, and creating facilities to facilitate the treatment process for patients.
The meeting also included comprehensive discussions and assessments regarding the enhancement of the capacity of healthcare personnel, the provision of training programs for doctors and healthcare workers, the creation of employment opportunities for specialists in healthcare centers, ensuring a suitable environment in hospitals for patients and their attendants, and ensuring appropriate conduct by doctors and healthcare workers toward them. Decisions were also made in this regard.
At the conclusion of the meeting, separate committees were assigned the responsibility of preparing and organizing their proposed solutions for the improvement of healthcare services and presenting them at future meetings.
