ISIS’s Widespread Presence and Media Activities in Baluchistan:Turkish Newspaper Published Statements of ISIS Media Activist

The Turkish newspaper Kisa Dalgha reported that Ahmed Kazanci, also known by the aliases Abu Ubayda and Abu Ibrahim, who was arrested by the Turkish National Intelligence Service (MIT), had been conducting media and propaganda activities for ISIS-Khorasan from the mountainous regions of Baluchistan.

According to the report, Ahmed Kazanci traveled from Konya, Turkey, to Baluchistan via Iran, where he engaged in producing and disseminating ISIS propaganda in the Turkish language.

In his statements, Kazanci also referred to Ozgur Altun, known as Abu Yasir al-Turki, who headed ISIS-Khorasan’s Turkish-language propaganda operations in Baluchistan. Altun was reportedly involved in recruiting new members for the group and facilitating travel routes between Afghanistan and Pakistan before he was eventually arrested by Turkish intelligence authorities.
