Construction has begun on a standard 50-bed GH hospital in Tani district of Khost province at a cost of approximately 50 million Afghanis, according to Mostaghfar Gurbaz, spokesperson for the Khost provincial administration.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mawlawi Abdul Wali Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Health Services at the Ministry of Public Health, said the hospital will be built on five jeribs of land and will be equipped with standard medical facilities and equipment. He added that the project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.
Mr. Haqqani also announced that, as part of efforts to expand healthcare services, plans are underway to build a 100-bed specialized hospital for women and children in the provincial capital of Khost.
