Following her remarks, H.E Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, welcomed the EU Charge d’Affaires and her delegation. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Islamic Emirate has embarked on national reconstruction initiatives using its own budget, aspiring toward economic self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
H.E Mawlavi Abdul Kabir described the Islamic Emirate\u2019s relations with the international community as progressing, highlighting that alongside numerous foreign embassies currently operating within Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate presently maintains 40 political missions abroad, with intentions to expand this number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Deputy Prime Minister solicited EU support for Afghanistan in areas including development, counter-narcotics initiatives, alternative crop programs, job creation, and the treatment of drug addicts, noting that the Islamic Emirate is independently combatting narcotics.
