The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Al-Haj Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund, met with the Foreign Minister of the People\u2019s Republic of China, Mr. Wang Yi, and his accompanying delegation, who had arrived in Kabul to participate in the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, and the Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, His Excellency the Prime Minister welcomed the Chinese Foreign Minister and his delegation, stating: \u201cChina and Afghanistan are two strong and longstanding friends. We appreciate China\u2019s constructive stance, support, and cooperation regarding Afghanistan on the international stage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister further emphasized that China has cooperated not only with Afghanistan but also with other countries around the world in their development, and it has played a constructive role. He requested that China continue its efforts and cooperation on the international stage in support of Afghanistan\u2019s legitimate position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He remarked: \u201cThanks be to Allah, the Islamic Emirate does not permit any group or side to interfere in the affairs of others from Afghan soil, and we also call upon other countries to pursue the path of friendship, sound relations, and positive engagement rather than interference.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate observed that Afghanistan has faced many challenges over the past forty-five years, which were further exacerbated by the intervention of major powers. However, since the Islamic Emirate assumed authority, many of these challenges, including conflict and insecurity, have been resolved. \u201cOur policy is to advance through constructive relations and cooperation with neighboring and other states. As a result of sustainable and positive relations with all countries, including China, we will achieve substantial progress and cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, while referring to the historic ties between China and Afghanistan, described both states as longstanding friends. He added: \u201cChina respects Afghanistan\u2019s independence and the choices of the Afghan people, and we are confident that they have chosen a sound path.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further noted: \u201cAmong the foreign ministers of the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, I am the only one who has traveled to Afghanistan twice. This reflects our friendship and sincere commitment to Afghanistan. We share a common future and desire that Asian countries, particularly Afghanistan, take meaningful steps toward modernization and development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Wang Yi stated, \u201cChina is sincere and steadfast in its friendship with Afghanistan. We are prepared to cooperate with Afghanistan across various domains, particularly in the economic and security sectors, and we fully support the Afghan people in their progress. We also hope that Afghanistan will take into account some of our concerns, particularly concerning security.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added, \u201cEffective security cooperation between the two countries will establish a foundation for Afghanistan\u2019s development. We hope that you, as China\u2019s friend, will attach special importance to this matter and further enhance your cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
