H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, launched the implementation of four major electricity projects and inaugurated five others in Herat Province. These initiatives are part of a total of nine large-scale power projects.
He emphasized that the projects are vital to Afghanistan\u2019s industrial and economic development, noting that their implementation will provide 24-hour electricity to all industrial parks in Herat Province. In addition, commercial centers, rural areas, and residential neighborhoods will benefit from improved access to electricity, enabling the country to achieve greater domestic power stability.
The Deputy Prime Minister also announced incentives for investors involved in the construction of cold storage facilities. Investors in this sector will be granted a five-year tax exemption, while Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) will ensure the provision of uninterrupted electricity under all circumstances.
He called on all domestic and foreign investors to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs further urged all countries to pursue a policy of engagement with Afghanistan instead of restrictive approaches, and to regard the country\u2019s current security stability as an important opportunity.
He added that the international community should not expect engagement with the Islamic Emirate on matters of values. According to him, the Islamic Emirate follows a balanced policy toward all countries, with its primary focus on Afghanistan\u2019s economic growth, security stability, and good governance.
At the conclusion of the event, the Deputy Prime Minister called on officials of contracting companies and technical teams to complete the newly launched projects with full quality and within the specified timeframe.
It is worth noting that the projects inaugurated today include the extension of a 220-kilovolt power transmission line spanning 130 kilometers from Turkmenistan, as well as the construction of four substations in the districts of Karukh, Pashtun Zarghun, Obeh, and Chisht-e-Sharif. Through these projects, electricity will be supplied to approximately 40,000 families.
Additionally, the newly launched projects include the construction of the Pul-e-Hashmi substation, the expansion of the Shohada-e-24 Hoot substation, the establishment of Line \u201cB\u201d at the Noor-ul-Jihad substation, and the extension of power transmission lines connecting the Pul-e-Hashmi, Noor-ul-Jihad, and Shohada-e-24 Hoot substations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
