Representatives of China, India and Iran have reaffirmed their support for Afghanistan\u2019s stability, economic development and constructive engagement with the international community during the latest United Nations Security Council meeting on Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the meeting, China\u2019s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, stated that Afghanistan has generally achieved a state of stability and has expanded its engagement with regional countries and the international community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that Afghanistan continues to play a constructive role in promoting regional stability and strengthening economic cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chinese representative highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue and practical engagement with Afghanistan, while expressing support for the Doha Process, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and coordination mechanisms among Afghanistan\u2019s neighboring countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fu Cong welcomed ongoing efforts aimed at improving Afghanistan\u2019s economic conditions and enhancing the livelihoods of its people, reaffirming China\u2019s support for the continued work of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further noted that international cooperation and regional partnerships can contribute to Afghanistan\u2019s sustainable development, long-term stability and deeper integration into the international community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, India has reiterated its commitment to supporting peace, stability and development in Afghanistan during the Security Council session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India\u2019s representative, referring to the longstanding and historic ties between the two countries, stated that India-supported development projects continue to be implemented across all 34 provinces of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that India has provided significant humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan in recent years, including supplies of wheat, medicines, vaccines, relief materials, and support in the areas of healthcare and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian representative also highlighted the continuation of assistance for healthcare services, maternal and child care facilities, child support initiatives, and educational scholarships for Afghan students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further announced that India will host Afghanistan\u2019s national cricket team, describing sports as an important platform for promoting hope, unity and a positive outlook among the Afghan people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian representative also stressed the importance of regional cooperation, expansion of trade, humanitarian assistance and constructive international engagement, while reaffirming support for UNAMA and calling on the international community to continue working with the people of Afghanistan toward a peaceful and prosperous future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same meeting, Iran\u2019s representative welcomed recent positive developments in Afghanistan, pointing to signs of economic stability and efforts aimed at expanding economic activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described the significant decline in poppy cultivation as an important achievement, noting that the development carries positive implications at both regional and international levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian representative emphasized the importance of continued international engagement and cooperation to support Afghanistan\u2019s economic growth, development and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed Iran\u2019s support for the Doha Process, the Moscow Format and cooperation mechanisms involving Afghanistan\u2019s neighboring countries, describing these frameworks as important foundations for peace, security and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian representative also expressed support for the extension of UNAMA\u2019s mandate, highlighting the mission\u2019s role in facilitating dialogue, coordinating international assistance and supporting Afghanistan\u2019s engagement with the international community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He concluded by stating that Iran will continue cooperation with regional countries, the United Nations and international partners in support of a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of UNAMA, Georgette Gagnon, told the Security Council that Afghanistan remains stable under the current authorities, with territorial and administrative control consolidated and no armed or political challenges currently confronting the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing Afghanistan\u2019s economic situation, she stated that the country\u2019s economic growth remains positive and that financial stability has been supported through long-term investment in key infrastructure sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Acting Head of UNAMA further identified the near-complete elimination of narcotics cultivation as one of Afghanistan\u2019s notable achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
