The Herat provincial government’s media office announced that 10 new factories have been inaugurated in the province’s industrial town, with a total investment exceeding $60 million.
According to officials, the factories will operate in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, food processing, and cotton wool production.
Herat Governor Shaikh Maulana Islam Jar welcomed the launch of the new facilities, noting that their operation will create employment opportunities for hundreds of people.
Meanwhile, Abdul Nasser Amin, Deputy Chairman of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, stated that since the restoration of the Islamic Emirate, the number of factories in Herat’s industrial town has grown from 120 to 1,170.
