$30 million Fruit Cold Storage Facility Launched in Kabul

A major fresh fruit cold storage facility with a capacity of 3,000 metric tons has been inaugurated in Kabul’s Deh Sabz Industrial Park at a cost of $30 million. Built on six acres of land, the facility aims to strengthen agricultural supply chains and reduce post-harvest losses.

At the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Mawlawi Zamir Osmani urged the private sector to increase investment in cold storage infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock reported that nearly 110 small and large cold storage facilities have been constructed, renovated, or commissioned in Kabul province this year.
