On Thursday morning, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Honorable Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with Mr. Abdulrahman Tariq, the Program Director of AfghanAid, at his office and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint cooperation.
During the meeting, Alhaj Turabi Sahb warmly welcomed the AfghanAid delegation and discussed the organization’s ongoing project, describing it as a significant service for the people of Ghor Province. He further emphasized, “We have full authority over our institution and assure all organizations that we will provide the necessary cooperation to facilitate the implementation of their projects.”
At the same time, Mr. Abdulrahman Tariq, AfghanAid’s Program Director, presented details about their project and praised Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority for its efficiency and lack of bureaucratic obstacles. He expressed special gratitude to Mr. Turabi for his support in this regard.
It is noteworthy that at the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding worth a total of $675,237 was signed between the two entities. According to the MoU, in the Firozkoh district of Ghor Province, 155 affected families will each receive $2,003.34 for home construction along with a personal safety kit valued at $8.50. Additionally, 187 affected families will each receive $550 for essential home repairs, and 241 families will each receive $330 for partial home repairs.
Furthermore, among these, 177 families headed by individuals with disabilities or women will receive an additional $6.50 as an incentive.
It is also worth mentioning that training programs on technical guidelines for home construction will be conducted for the beneficiaries of this program.
