The National Radio and Television of Afghanistan started broadcasting in voice form for the first time under the name of Kabul Radio in 1925 (1304 by the Afghan calendar), and then it continued under the name of National Radio of Afghanistan. On the 19 August in the year of 1978, it started broadcasting on television. The National Radio and Television of Afghanistan, since its establishment, has played a significant role in society by effectively fulfilling its national mission of informing the public about the country's national interests and promoting public awareness. With its widespread branches and broadcasts across the nation, it serves as the official state broadcasting organization.
