Shakib highlighted issues such as the arrest and harassment of Afghan refugees in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, emphasizing the need to safeguard the rights of those with legal documents.
He condemned police raids on Afghan homes, the arrest of women and children, and the extortion of bribes.
The ambassador noted that many Afghan residents, fearing police action, have shuttered their businesses for weeks.
Philippa Kindler expressed concern over the situation and assured that she would engage with Pakistani authorities to address the harassment and ensure fair treatment of Afghan refugees.
