An Afghan delegation led by Mawlawi Saaduddin Saeed, Deputy Director of the National Environmental Protection Agency, participated in the Asia-Pacific preparatory meeting for the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions in Beijing, China.
The meeting aimed to coordinate preparations for the official Conference of the Parties to the Trilateral Conventions, scheduled to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from April 28 to May 12, 2025.
During the session, the Islamic Emirate’s delegation highlighted the importance of international cooperation and called for enhanced technical and financial support from signatory countries and the UnitedNations Environment Program to strengthen the implementation of the conventions in Afghanistan.
The delegation also reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to actively participating in future initiatives related to the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions.
