The Embassy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tehran says it has taken immediate action to assess and address the situation of several Afghan nationals stranded in extreme cold at the Iran–Turkey border.
According to the embassy, cash assistance and emergency medical care were provided to 10 citizens who suffered severe frostbite and leg injuries.
The embassy added that arrangements are underway to transfer the affected individuals back to the country soon.
