Nooruddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan, during his official visit to the country.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, both sides discussed the expansion of trade relations and the increase of bilateral trade volume, emphasizing enhanced cooperation in the oil, wheat, flour, and other food sectors.
The meeting also highlighted the export of Afghan agricultural products—particularly cotton—to Kazakhstan as one of the key priorities for future cooperation.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the roadmap for bilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, which seeks to raise the trade volume between the two countries to three billion dollars in the coming years.
Minister Azizi also introduced Afghanistan’s investment opportunities and industrial potential, calling for the establishment of a sales center for Afghan products in Almaty and encouraging Kazakh investment in Afghanistan’s infrastructure projects.
