The recent talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Istanbul failed to make progress due to Pakistan’s unreasonable demands.
During the discussions, Pakistan requested guarantees from Afghanistan that no attacks would occur on its territory. The Afghan delegation responded that the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is Pakistan’s domestic and historical issue, while reaffirming that Afghan soil will never be used against Pakistan or any other country.
The Afghan delegation also urged Pakistan to prevent ISIS and other extremist groups from using its territory to carry out attacks in Afghanistan, to respect Afghan airspace, and to clearly separate political issues from trade relations.
Afghanistan emphasized its commitment to regional stability and mutual respect, highlighting that constructive dialogue must be based on fairness and realistic expectations.
