China’s Special Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, has urged the UN Security Council to consider lifting the travel ban on senior officials of the Islamic Emirate.
He emphasized the need to amend existing sanctions to facilitate greater engagement with Afghanistan’s current government.
Fu Cong also stressed that humanitarian aid to Afghanistan must continue without being used as a tool of pressure.
Addressing the issue of Afghanistan’s frozen assets, he asserted that these funds rightfully belong to the Afghan people and called on the UnitedStates to release them unconditionally.
