Chinese Special Representative for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong and Pakistani Special Representative Mohammad Sadiq held a meeting with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi to discuss regional cooperation and upcoming diplomatic engagements, the Foreign Ministry said.
The talks focused on follow-up actions from the fifth China-Afghanistan-Pakistan Trilateral Dialogue, preparations for the sixth round, the upcoming fifth meeting of foreign ministers from Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, and broader political and economic cooperation.
Minister Muttaqi emphasized the importance of strong political and economic ties with both China and Pakistan, expressing optimism for continued progress in these areas.
Both special representatives reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening relations with Afghanistan based on good neighborliness and mutual respect. It was agreed that the sixth Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue will be held in Kabul.
