Lieutenant General Mullah Abdul Haq Akhund Hamkar, Deputy Minister of Counter Narcotics at the Ministry of Interior, met with UNODC Director Polleak Ok Serei to discuss cooperation in combating drug production and trafficking.
During the meeting, Mr. Hamkar called for support in promoting alternative livelihoods to poppy cultivation, professional training for police officers, and other collaborative efforts.
He emphasized that the cultivation, sale, purchase, and trafficking of narcotics are strictly banned in the country.
The UNODC Director praised the Islamic Emirate’s efforts and pledged to document and share its achievements in the fight against narcotics with the international community.
