The Kandahar Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock announced that, with coordination from the Chamber of Commerce and Investment and financial support from a private company, 20 tons of pomegranates from Kandahar have been exported to Qatar for the first time. The shipment, valued at $30,000, was transported via Iran.
This year, Kandahar harvested about 274,000 tons of pomegranate products, of which over 22,000 tons have been exported abroad.
