For the first time in Herat province, a fully equipped hospital dedicated to the treatment of thalassemia patients has been constructed and officially inaugurated.
During his official visit to Herat province, the Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, presided over the formal opening of the newly commissioned thalassemia treatment center, which was made possible through the valuable contributions of respected community leaders and national business figures.
The opening ceremony was marked by the presence of Herat’s Governor, Sheikh Noor Ahmad Islam Jar, as well as high-level diplomatic envoys from Iran, Turkey, and Turkmenistan.
This purpose-built facility, established through close coordination between the Herat Provincial Authority and the Directorate of Public Health, serves as a dedicated hospital offering targeted healthcare services for children affected by thalassemia.
Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health, hailed the remarkable generosity of Herat’s respected elders and business community, deeming their initiative a significant milestone in enhancing access to treatment for disadvantaged children battling thalassemia.
Furthermore, the Minister of Public Health urged entrepreneurs from across the nation to collaborate in expanding quality healthcare services to the public. He emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to deliver these services through internal financial resources and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting and facilitating any potential investor interested in contributing to the health sector.
At the event, the hospital’s developers conveyed their dedication to collaborating closely with the Ministry of Public Health, pledging to redouble efforts in equipping the hospital with advanced medical devices.
Moreover, the Governor of Herat highlighted his commitment to motivating additional entrepreneurs and investors to channel resources into the healthcare sector, thereby addressing the community’s healthcare demands through expanded private investment.
