Under the leadership of Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, Chief Executive Officer of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), a high-level delegation traveled to Tajikistan to participate in a meeting regarding the CASA-1000 project.
The CASA-1000 meeting is being held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with the participation of representatives from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, as well as from the Islamic Development Bank and other international organizations and institutions.
The meeting will feature comprehensive discussions on various aspects of the project.
CASA-1000 is the largest joint economic project for electricity transmission from Central Asia to South Asia, passing through Afghanistan.
The meeting will focus on the current status of the project, recent developments, solutions to challenges, and future plans and dimensions of the initiative.
At the end of the session, participants—especially representatives from CASA member countries—will visit the converter station in the Sangtuda region.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat remains committed to completing this project as soon as possible with financial support from the World Bank, aiming to bring it into operation and thereby strengthen political and economic ties among CASA member nations.
