Honorable Amir ul Momineen (may Allah mercy on him) gave a speech to a large gathering at Kandahar University. The gathering was attended by the leadership of Kandahar University, lecturers, administrative staff and students.
The leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Amir ul Momineen, Sheikh al-Quran wal-Hadith Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, (may Allah protect and bless him), visited Kandahar University.
This was the first time he met with the university’s leadership, lecturers, administrative staff and students, and addressed them with a comprehensive speech.
At outset, he spoke about the importance of knowledge and the value of both religious and modern education.
He advised the lecturers and students to study both sciences with sincerity, keeping their intention solely for the pleasure of Allah, and to use their knowledge to benefit religion and the people.
He further addressed the lecturers and students, saying: “Look, lecturers and students, you should pursue both religious and worldly knowledge. Your intention should be to serve the religion.
You are highly respected in society, the community holds students of schools, madrasas, and universities in high regard and wishes for your service.
Foreigners have come to this country multiple times and have been defeated, but now, thank Allah, Afghanistan is progressing under the light of an Islamic system.” “We ask you to write the histories of your martyrs, fighters, and heroes, and introduce them internationally.
The Mujahideen, with the help of Allah, freed this country in difficult times.
Now, it is your turn to make Afghanistan competitive in the world with your knowledge and efforts.
Work so hard that foreigners come here, learn from you, and rule the world with the knowledge you provide,” Amir ul Momineen said.
He further stated in his speech that Afghanistan is the common home of all, and each one of you has a special place in this system.
He also mentioned that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has good intentions for you and that both madrasas and universities are one. Protecting and supporting both educational institutions is our duty.
Moreover, he continued by saying that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has made all facilities available for the advancement of knowledge and instructed the Ministry of Higher Education that if foreign lecturers come to teach in Afghanistan’s universities at any cost, they should be welcomed.
However, they should train the youth of the country in a professional manner. He told the attendees of the gathering, “You are the educated people.
Work for the development, unity, and solidarity of this country, and serve your people truly.”
Besides, he said that every decree of mine is made in consultation with the religious scholars and based on the principles of the Quran and Hadith, and it is a command from Allah.
It is noteworthy that this gathering was held at the main masjid (mosque) of Kandahar University, and many students, lecturers, and employees of the university attended.
