Import of Pakistani Medicines Prohibited in Afghanistan Effective Today

The Ministry of Finance of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has announced that, effective from the 21st of Shaban-ul-Mu’azzam (corresponding to the 20th of Dalwa), the import of medicines from Pakistan is officially prohibited at all customs offices nationwide.

Abdul Qayyum Nasir, spokesperson for the Ministry, emphasized that strict monitoring will be enforced to prevent the smuggling of medicines and other goods, and legal action will be taken against all violators.

The Ministry reiterated its call for importers of medicines and other essential commodities to utilize alternative routes instead of Pakistan, assuring that all necessary support and facilities will be provided to traders to facilitate compliance.

Earlier, the Ministry had clarified that, after the 21st of Shaban-ul-Mu’azzam of the current lunar year, Pakistani medicines would no longer be subject to customs duties.
