Inauguration of Repatriated returnees’ Residential Township in Kunduz Province

The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, and the Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Mawlavi Hamdullah Nomani, the Governor of Kunduz, and other provincial officials officially inaugurated a residential township for repatriated returnees in Chahar-Dara district, Kunduz province.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s firm commitment to making the provision of vital infrastructure and services to the Afghan nation a priority, with special emphasis on repatriated citizens. He once again assured that the leadership is firm in its resolve and will do all it can to fulfill this obligation.

His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi also noted that, over the past few months, some neighboring countries have been pursuing the forced expulsion of Afghan nationals actions that are against defined standards of neighborly conduct and international norms of law.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that the IE continues to pursue efforts to employ all avenues of resources towards establishing the circumstances for the reintegration of returnees with the aims of securing for them a safe & dignified life within their native provinces and societies.

It is significant to note that the newly established township has 3,741 housing plots, which are to be allocated to the worthy beneficiaries based on a just and transparent allotment process.
