H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, accompanied by Mawlawi Hamdullah Numani, Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, officially inaugurated Phase Two of the Daman Residential Town for returnees in Kandahar Province.
During the ceremony, attended by Deputy Governor Mawlawi Mohammad Sadiq Enqelabi and other local officials, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored that the current security and Islamic governance, made possible by the sacrifices of scholars, youth, and devoted citizens, are among the divine blessings for which we must remain grateful.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the establishment of townships to address refugee issues and ensure their permanent resettlement is a top priority for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
He added that his visit aimed to inspect the completed first phase of the Daman Kandahar refugee township and inaugurate the second phase, which will be allocated to deserving refugees.
The township is being developed on 1,510 jeribs of land with essential infrastructure, including an entrance gate, six solar water systems, six ablution facilities, and four kilometers of semi-paved roads. The second phase was officially inaugurated today, marking the start of land distribution.
