In a statement, the Islamic Emirate condemned the 7th of Sawr coup and the communist invasion of Afghanistan’s sacred territory, calling the 8th of Sawr a historic day of freedom and pride for the nation.
The statement declared that the dark era initiated by these events has ended, with the Islamic Emirate achieving its goals of restoring Afghanistan’s independence, fostering unity and consensus, eliminating chaos, and implementing a Shari’a-based system.
It emphasized that now is the time to firmly protect the Shari’a system and that all Afghans are united and committed to ensuring the survival and stability of a strong Afghanistan governed by Islamic principles.
According to the statement, on the 7th of Sawr, 1357 (April 27, 1978), communist forces launched a military coup against the then-government, paving the way for the subsequent Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
