The Acting Minister of Interior, Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, met with the Ambassador of the European Union in Afghanistan, Ms. Rafila Yudiche. Ms. Yudiche praised the peace in Afghanistan and discussed the upcoming meeting in Doha next month, which will be participated by the countries involved in Afghanistan. On behalf of the European Union, she mentioned other humanitarian aid initiatives, including cooperation with the victims of the Herat earthquake and assistance for Afghans returning to the country. Mr. Khalifa Sahib welcomed Ms. Rafila Yudiche and expressed appreciation for her support for Afghans and her positive efforts regarding Afghanistan. He stated that Afghanistan is rapidly progressing towards political and economic stability after several decades of instability and troubles, and for the first time in a long while, Afghans feel a sense of physical and psychological security. The Acting Minister of Interior Affairs also emphasized the importance of the Afghan government obtaining membership in important international organizations, as it would ensure that Afghans have genuine representation and facilitate the resolution of issues.
