Former U.S. Special Envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, stated following the release of a United Nations report on the martyring of Afghan civilians that the people of Pakistan do not support the policies of the country’s ruling institutions.
He noted that these policies have resulted in the martyrs of Afghan civilians and emphasized that there is a growing disconnect between the Pakistani public and its governing bodies.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Khalilzad highlighted that this gap is significant and continues to widen.
