Zalmay Khalilzad, former US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, said the situation in Pakistan is very serious and requires a reset and a renewed start.
He said Pakistan’s economy is in a critical and unstable condition, with the government desperately seeking financial assistance to rescue the economy. He added that Balochistan is facing widespread unrest, Pakistan-administered Kashmir has been hit by a wave of violence, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is experiencing a similar situation.
Khalilzad also said Pakistan has regressed in its foreign policy, with its relations with Afghanistan and India deteriorating further. Marking the third anniversary of Imran Khan’s imprisonment, he questioned whether the move had benefited Pakistan.
