The National Statistics and Information Authority distributed birth certificates to 11,460 individuals across the country from Dec 22 to Jan 22, 2025, comprising 8,018 adults and 3,442 children.
Data show that the highest number of birth certificates (7,121) was distributed in Kabul from Dec 22 to Jan 22 this year. After Kabul, Khost with 966, Balkh with 748, Nangarhar with 741, and Herat with 308, provinces come in the next lines of the table with birth certificates distributed.
On the other hand, data show that 6,439 birth certificates were distributed through the Asan Khedmat centers in Kabul and the provinces, while the remaining 5,021 were issued by the Vital Events Registration Department in the central office and the vital statistics departments of the provincial offices. Also, from Dec 22 to Jan 22 of 2025, the NSIA distributed 2,460 death sheets across the country, with the highest numbers reported in Kabul, Helmand, Kandahar, Paktia, and Khost provinces
