Minister of Refugees and Repatriation Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, met with Qatar’s Chargé d’Affaires to Afghanistan, Mirdef Al-Qashouti, to discuss cooperation on matters concerning Afghan refugees.
During the meeting, Mr. Al-Qashouti reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Afghan refugees and stated that his country, in coordination with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, is actively exploring ways to facilitate the appropriate repatriation of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries. He also emphasized that the people of Qatar and humanitarian organizations stand ready to provide all necessary assistance to Afghans.
Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, in turn, praised the positive relations and ongoing cooperation between the Islamic Emirate and Qatar. He reiterated the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to finding a lasting solution to the refugee issue.
Additionally, the Minister highlighted the Islamic Emirate’s initiative to construct 46 residential towns, emphasizing the need for support from donor agencies, particularly Qatar, to help realize this project.
