The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, held a telephonic conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Interim Government, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani.
At the outset, extending his heartfelt congratulations to his Syrian counterpart on their recent achievements, FM Muttaqi expressed his best wishes for the success & progress of the new government.
He also congratulated Minister Al-Shaibani on his appointment as Foreign Minister, wishing him a successful tenure.
Commending the Syrian government’s post-victory positions on amnesty & good governance, FM Muttaqi expressed willingness to establish well-structured diplomatic relations with Syria, noting that the Afghan people, having endured nearly five decades of hardships, can deeply understand Syria’s current situation.
Later, appreciating the call from Afghan Foreign Minister, FM Al-Shaibani acknowledged the Afghan people’s two-decade-long struggle against foreign occupation as a crucial experience. which much could be learned from.
Adding further, Syrian Foreign Minister said that Syrians have endured nearly fifty years of hardships, & now dealing with many adversities left behind by the previous regime.
FM Al-Shaibani expressed hope to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries proposed enhancing bilateral engagement through exchanges of delegations & high-level visits.
