Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing to discuss bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Minister Muttaqi described China as an important economic partner for Afghanistan and expressed optimism about a significant increase in trade volume between the two countries in the near future.
He emphasized the need for a comprehensive solution to the challenges faced by Afghan traders, particularly in exporting agricultural products and other goods.
Muttaqi also reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to ensuring that its territory will never be used against neighboring countries.
In response, Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged continued political and economic support for Afghanistan.
He also promised efforts to remove barriers affecting the import of Afghan agricultural products and other goods. Wang reiterated that China, as a close neighbor, is committed to supporting Afghanistan’s economic development.
