Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi: Islamic Emirate is working to unite poets and writers

Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Information and Culture, has rejected claims by some media outlets that poetry recital programs in the country have been halted.

He clarified that the Islamic Emirate has no intention of limiting or banning poetry and literature. On the contrary, efforts are being made to strengthen ties among writers, poets, and literary circles.

Azizi made these remarks during the annual Anargul Poetry Recital held in Kandahar Province.

He further stated that, in accordance with the guidelines set by His Highness Amir al-Mu’mineen, may God protect him, the Ministry of Information and Culture is tasked with reviewing the works of poets at the end of each year and formally recognizing outstanding contributions.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Islamic Emirate, including Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Administrative Deputy to the Prime Minister; Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate; Mawlawi Hamdullah Nomani, Minister of Urban Development and Housing; and other high-ranking dignitaries.
